Beginning in October 2017, more than 85 community volunteers came together to form a Bond Task Force to address the fact that many of the school buildings in our District are aging, and in need of extensive repairs and equipment upgrades.
For more than five months, the members of the Bond Task Force met as a group, formed two subcommittees, read thousands of pages of reports, toured five schools, met with District staff, and worked together to determine the best plan to address the many facility-related problems at the Ferndale High School campus, and at our elementary and middle schools.
The result of the Bond Task Force’s work is a community-developed capital bond proposal that addresses the District’s most pressing facility-related needs.
Bond Task Force member Maralise Fegan explains why she volunteered and the importance of “Approving” the Bond Request
